SHINGITAI NO GI FREESTYLE JUDO CHALLENGE

May 14, 2016
Perrysville, Ohio

"This is Judo, the way it ought to be." John Saylor

Freestyle Judo has deep roots in Shingitai. It was the Shingitai Jujitsu Championships back in 1997 and 1998 that led to the development of the Freestyle Judo rules in 2008, so it is only fitting that as part of our 1996-2016 Shingitai Celebration that we host a No Gi Freestyle Judo Tournament at our Shingitai Training Camp in Perrysville, Ohio.

TOURNAMENT: National Shingitai No Gi Freestyle Judo Challenge

LOCATION: This meet will be held in the gym where we hold our Shingitai Training Camp, Perrysville, Ohio. For location information, see the camp flyer.

REGISTRATION/WEIGH-INS: 8:00-8:30 a.m. with a Rules Clinic at 9:00.

CONTEST STARTS: About 9:00 a.m. (After pairings are done and rules clinic is over.)

CATEGORIES: Everyone will have matches. This tournament is for ages 18 and older-no junior or youth categories due to our insurance. We will have Veteran's categories based on who shows up. Pairings will be based fairly on weight, age (we don't want a 55 year old going against a 22 year old, for instance) and experience. We are not sure how many people will enter, so if we have a small group or if we have a large group, we will still have a great tournament.

ENTRY FEE: $25.00 CASH ONLY. NO CHECKS AND NO PLASTIC. You will not need an AAU card as we are insuring this separately.
AWARDS: Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals awarded.
ATTIRE: Rash Guard or T-Shirt, Judo/Jujitsu Pants, Belt are required. Basically, this is "No Jacket Judo" so you do not need a Jacket for the tournament.
RULES: We will use the AAU Freestyle Judo Rules. Go to www.FreestyleJudo.org to see the rules. Match time will be 3 minutes (overtime if necessary).
SCHEDULE: We will run the tournament straight through. Stick around for the training camp after the tournament (separate fee-see the camp flyer).
Please be on time at 8:00 a.m. to register and weigh-in.
INFORMATION: Call Steve Scott at (816) 210-4484 for information.
